The Ahwahnee Hotel opened for guests in 1927 with the goal of attracting a wealthy, educated clientele with the money and influence needed to help support and fund the young national park system. Combining rustic, art deco and Native American infuluences, The Ahwahnee Hotel is one of the crown jewels of lodging in the National Parks. Visitors can see Half Dome, Yosemite Falls and Glacier Point from the hotel grounds.
